Today is know as Tackle It Tuesday as I learned from one of my favorite blogs 5 Mintues For Mom. This week I decided to teach my four year old daughter how to make my Grandmother's Spaghetti Sauce. For the most part she was able to make it herself and I just cut the veggies and opened the cans for her. She was so proud to make it all by herself. She couldn't wait for her Dad to come home so she could tell him. She even called her Grandmother to brag about her cooking skills LOL. I think I have a little chef on my hands! I am so proud of her and it brought back many memories of my Grandmother making this sauce. I used to joke with her and call it "Ragu" and believe me she didn't like that. My family has come to love this spagahetti sauce and now it is also my husband's favorite...and he is Italian! I feel like I had a very productive Tuesday and my daughter and I had a wonderful time cooking together. We also have enough sauce for about six more dinners (it freezes really well)!!!

Today my four year old daughter finished her first year preschool! I can't believe my little girl had her first school ceremony. I felt like a proud mom sitting there watching her walk in the room with her class. Once the class down, they sang this wonderful song about Butterflies and that was it; I lost it and my eyes were full of tears! It seems like just yesterday I was holding her in my arms at the hospital. Where has the time gone? It has flown by so fast that I feel like I was just helping her learn to sit up, crawl, walk and even talk (one thing I might regret a little bit because she is a chatterbox LOL). I am so happy to be here for every milestone she has accomplished. It hasn't always been all fun and games and we do have our rough days. However, nothing compares to when she looks up at me with those big hazel eyes and says, "Mom, I love you" and she gives me a big hug...I just melt. No matter how mad I may be, those three little words turn me into mush. I am so proud of all she has accomplished in the last year and I know there is much more to come. |
