The Frog Prince is yet another great book by Jane Porter. I read it over the weekend and I could not put it down!!! Holly the main character is hysterical and I found myself laughing at her the whole book. There are a few dating situations in the story and I felt like I was sitting at the table right with her (or maybe it was because I could relate on some level)! I'm aniously awaiting a copy of Jane's new book due out on September 27th that I won on another site...it can't get here quick enough!

Let me begin by saying WOW- and that is an understatement!!! This was the third company fling I've attended and they just keep getting better! It's not a normal convention where you have a hard time staying awake, but you get to listen to real people share their stories and experiences with our company.
My main reason for attending Fling (not just for all the fun and great friends) was to gain some motivation back that was lost over the summer. Some days I find it difficult to accomplish all my goals in this business with two small children. During the summer they want to spend their days outside and let's face it, my laptop just DOESN'T work out there- believe me I tried! Trying to work inside when my girls are itching to be outside, I found I often got frustrated with them and they are my "why" for this business. I needed to take a break and focus on them. I have enjoyed great days at the lake/beach, some amazing new books and just hanging out with friends, but it's time to get back on track! With the busiest candle season right around the corner, I wanted a jump start into Fall. Listening to all the great stories and testimonials of success by others in this business (many good friends) really gave me back the focus I needed. Their stories were filled with laughter and tears, but everyone speaks from the heart and there is no hype. The best advice I received all Fling was from my sponsor who told me that everyone needs a break once in a while, but just make sure you come back from it! It helped settle my nerves to know that a Senior Director has gone through the same setbacks as me. It's these conversations I get to have with the owners and leaders of the company I find most fulfilling. They are so real and sincere when talking to you, you feel like you've know them your whole life. I know I have found the most unique company out there and they truly care about each distributor. Now the good stuff...the "Goody Bag" we received with all the new products! It was priceless to watch our Master Candle Maker walk in the room wearing a chef's hat and coat carrying our new Hot Apple Pie candle... He was fifty feet away and I could smell it...it wasn't even lit! They also introduced a new Hand lotion that is to die for! I used a pea sized amount at the convention to try and my hands were soft for two days...the secret formula was made by a pharmacist for his wife who had an extreme case of dried, cracked hands. However, my favorite new product was the Japanese Pear bath bar. This scent is incredible! I found myself smelling it all day long (if you were there you witnessed this first hand LOL). Here is the full line of new products contained in our "Goody Bag": (Click the name to view the product) New Hot Apple Pie Bakery line New Japanese Pear Body Bar New Balm Hand & Foot Cream Holiday Specialty Candle New Jar & Votive Candle Boxes New Catalogs & Brochures In October I will be celebrating THREE years with the company and I know it's just the beginning. We are just at the ground floor and I know I will see many of you at the Director level! Remember as the company says..."Dare to Dream". Frenemies is a great new book by Megan Crane I just finished! This book made me laugh all the way through and I managed to finish it in just one day!!! It you are looking for one last great summer read, this is it!!!
My next book will be "Odd Mom Out" by Jane Porter. I just won a copy and it doesn't come out until late September!!! I'll give you a full report when I'm done (but if it's anything like her last book, I know I will LOVE it)! I've been enjoying some summer reading and thought I would share. A good friend of mine (thanks Kari) recommended two great authors, Jane Green and Jane Porter. I have been really enjoying both Jane's work. Jane Green also lives in my state of Connecticut and I find her books so easy to read and relate too. I often get a good laugh out of her characters and what they say...I can even see myself having coffee with a few! She has a new book out called "Second Chance" that in many ways I thought I was reading about myself or my friends. If you need to pick up a good book on the way to the beach, this one comes highly recommended!
Enjoy the rest of your summer! |
